After finishing training, new flight attendants will be assigned a base where they will work and from which they’ll fly. As you gain seniority, you can bid to work at other bases.

You’ll also be responsible for preparing the cabin for takeoff, including locking seats in the upright position and stowing carry-on luggage. At the end of a flight, you’ll ensure that seatbelts are fastened, all items have been removed from the plane and stowed, and that the cabin is clean before the plane departs the runway.

As a Flight Attendant, you will need to be willing to work irregular hours and shifts, especially on long-haul flights. The irregular schedule can lead to fatigue and jet lag, so it’s important to prioritize health and wellness by getting enough sleep and staying physically active. It is also helpful to be able to manage stress well and cope with challenging passengers.
